* Super Sprints
Our daily OnBoard Live Show will feature live connections to every boat in the fleet, bringing audiences inside the intensity of the race and showcase the inner workings of the team.
And now, for the first time, a new competitive factor is being added to The Ocean Race Atlantic - the Super Sprint.
The Super Sprint is a new daily competition that will run within the transatlantic race, similar to how sprints and climbs are parallel competitions within the Tour de France cycling race.
Teams will be “sprinting” for 20-minutes. The winner will be the team who covers the greatest GPS distance, point to point (regardless of direction), over the 20-minute sprint.
There will be a daily winner/ranking and a separate Super Sprint leaderboard (high point scoring) but this does not impact on the overall race standings in The Ocean Race Atlantic.
The Super Sprint will be covered live as part of our 30-minute OnBoard Live Show and will feature live connections to every boat in the fleet.
