After a successful season in Figaro, he sailed in IMOCA as Charlie Dalin's replacement skipper for the 2024-25 Vendée Globe.
In 2025, he announced, alongside Banque Populaire, the construction of a new IMOCA – a sistership of Team Malizia’s future IMOCA, with the goal of competing in the solo round-the-world race in 2028. For this new project, Team Malizia, TR Racing (Thomas Ruyant) and Team Banque Populaire (Loïs Berrehar) have joined forces in a first in the IMOCA Class history, which three experienced teams having chosen to work closely together to co-design and build their new racing machines.
This year and while waiting for his new IMOCA, Loïs will take part in crewed races, joining Team Malizia as co-skipper for The Ocean Race Europe. Although it will be his debut with the team, Loïs and skipper Boris Herrmann have known each other for many years, since he was just a kid. In 2008, Loïs christened Boris’ Beluga Racer, the Class40 the German then raced to second place in the Artemis Transat and later won the Portimão Global Ocean Race with.
