Morgan Lagravière is a French offshore sailor renowned for his expertise across multiple disciplines. Initially selected for the French Olympic sailing team in the 49er class, he later excelled in solo offshore races. He emerged as a top rookie in the Solitaire du Figaro in 2011, earning victories in both that the event rookie ranking and the Tour de Bretagne.

In 2014, he joined the Safran Sailing Team and became skipper of the groundbreaking IMOCA Safran II, the first foiling monohull. His first Vendée Globe campaign in 2016 ended early due to technical problems, but he went on to win major offshore double-handed races — the Transat Jacques Vabre in both 2021 and 2023 — alongside Thomas Ruyant. Morgan Lagravière did participate as helm/trimmer in Gitana Team’s 2020–21 attempt at the Jules Verne Trophy aboard the Maxi Edmond de Rothschild.

“I'm super happy to be joining the Allagrande Mapei crew for The Ocean Race Europe, alongside Ambrogio, Thomas, and Manon. We all come from different backgrounds, with varied backgrounds, but we're moving in the same direction: collective performance. The chemistry on board quickly took hold. From the very first training sessions, everyone found their place on board, and the atmosphere is great. This crewed tour of Europe reminds me of my years on the Tour de France à la Voile. Same competitive spirit, same desire to share great moments at sea, except that here the stages are longer, the boats more committed, and the challenges tougher. But at the end of the day, it's still the same story: building a solid team, where technical skills count as much as human qualities. I feel we're going to have a great adventure, with commitment, fun, and a real crew spirit. Can't wait for it to start!”
