Spain

Welcome Carlos!

New rotation on board Biotherm for the final leg and the finish in Boka Bay, Montenegro: Spaniard Carlos Manera Pascual replaces Sam Goodchild, who is unavailable due to other commitments.

Born in Madrid on June 11, 1998, Carlos grew up in Puerto de la Selva, a village on the Costa Brava, close to the famous Cap de Creus. It was in this small fishing port that Carlos learned to sail at a very young age, starting in dinghies. At 23, drawn to offshore racing, he joined the Mini circuit. In 2023, in his second participation, he won the first stage of the Mini Transat and finished 2nd overall on a foiling prototype. He then moved on to Class40 and IMOCA alongside Xavier Macaire and Justine Mettraux, with whom he raced this year in the Course des Caps and the Fastnet Race. Carlos will bring all the passion and energy of his youth to the Biotherm crew – at 27, he will be the youngest on board – as well as his sailing skills and knowledge of the Mediterranean. “Being here, as part of a high-performing team, with a competitive boat, is a dream! There is some pressure to perform, but I promise to give my very best!”
