British ocean racer Simon Fisher brings a wealth of experience and talent to the 11th Hour Racing Team campaign having raced around the world in the previous five consecutive editions of The Ocean Race.
Best known by his nickname ‘SiFi’, Fisher’s first campaign was in 2005-06 with the Dutch ABN AMRO TWO syndicate. In 2008-09 he raced with the Spanish Telefónica Blue crew, before back-to-back races with the United Arab Emirate team Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing – including a race-winning performance in 2014-15 – before teaming up in 2017-18 with the now 11th Hour Racing Team skipper Charlie Enright as part of the Vestas 11th Hour Racing team.
As part of 11th Hour Racing Team’s preparation for The Ocean Race 2022-23 Fisher and his Swiss teammate Justine Mettraux raced doublehanded aboard the team’s first IMOCA Alaka’i to finish third in the 2021 Rolex Fastnet Race, and second in the Le Defi Azimut 48-hour sprint.
As well as his enviable register of offshore achievements Fisher has also been involved in two America’s Cup challenges and is a highly sought after navigator on top professional campaigns ranging from TP52s to record-breaking MOD70 trimarans.
