Spanish yachtswoman Támara Echegoyen’s sailing achievements include five match racing world championship titles, an Olympic gold medal, and one previous participation in The Ocean Race around the world.

Sailing with Ángela Pumariega and Sofía Toro were crowned Olympic champions in the women’s match racing at London 2012. After switching to the doublehanded all women 49erFX class, she – sailing with crew Berta Betanzos – won the 2016 world title and she finished in fourth place at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Sailing with crew Paula Barceló she finished in fourth place again in the 49erFX at Tokyo 2020.

Echegoyen’s first tilt at The Ocean Race was in the 2017-18 edition with the Spanish entry MAPFRE.
