International Museum Day 2024

Unlocking Knowledge: ‘Museums for Education and Research’

17-18-19 May

Once again this year The Ocean Race Museum joins the celebration of International Museum Day together with MUSEA - Association of Museums of Alicante.

This year's theme, Unlocking Knowledge: International Museum Day 2024 Unveils ‘Museums for Education and Research’ highlights the role that our centres play in the educational experience and in research.

Don't miss our section dedicated to learning about the ocean and discover the amount of data that our racing boats capture through our onboard science programme. During The Ocean Race 2022-23, teams collected more than 4 million measurements of 18 types of environmental data while sailing around the world.

This year we are bringing back the museum passport. Get your passport in any of the museums of Alicante and by doing the activities in at least 4 of them, you will get an exclusive gift.

Celebrate the IMD with us and discover how museums contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals: from supporting climate action and promoting inclusion in education.
