The planning for the build of the team's new IMOCA 60 started in June 2019, before they had even announced they would be entering a team in The Ocean Race 2022-23.

From the story on the team website:

"We sat down, quite literally, with a blank sheet of paper to write the wish list of everything that we wanted in this new build.

"The requirements were exacting both from a race performance point of view and also a desire to work with designers, specialists and builders who would fully embrace our vision of building a boat that had sustainability and performance working hand-in-hand.

"In November 2020, our sustainability program manager, Damian Foxall, visited CDK Technologies along with skipper Charlie Enright, and crew members to see how the build was coming along. Take a look behind the scenes at some of the sustainability initiatives CDK Technologies have introduced and embraced for the build of our new IMOCA 60 and hear from Michel Ollivier, their Deputy Industrial Director. on the benefits a sustainable approach brings their business."
