Team AMAALA complete the fleet in Portsmouth

Alan Roura and his SUI/KSA-flagged Team AMAALA ghosted into Gunwharf Quays on Thursday night near 2230 local time to complete the five race finishers of Leg One of The Ocean Race.

It was a tough battle for the Swiss skipper and his team as they battled to keep pace with the top four boats in the fleet.

But for all that, Roura was jubilant on the dock.

"It was an unbelieveable leg," Roura said. "The first 6 or 8 hours of the race were maybe the most beautiful moments we have spent on a sailboat. The conditions were perfect. I think we will always remember this...

"But then there was a lot of upwind sailing and this boat doesn't like upwind," he said, laughing. "We tried to fight. We never stopped working. And we really enjoyed sailing togehter. We did a good job together. We had a really good time. We worked hard but we enjoyed it too."
