Team AMAALA finish to join the fleet in Cartagena

Team AMAALA skipper Alan Roura has brought his team across the finishing line in Cartagena in seventh place, completing the fleet in Cartagena.

"This wasn't what we wanted in terms of results, but it's one of the best arrivals I've every had," Roura said. 

His AMAALA crew enjoyed a raucous welcome dockside as their arrival coincied with The Ocean Race Europe crew party, so many of the sailors and shore crew from the other teams were on hand to greet them.

"What a way to arrive in Cartagena," Roura said, smiling.

"We had a good sail today in nice conditions, even if it was upwind all the way. But we wre tacking close to shore, you could smell the land it felt like we were getting closer all day.

"This isn't the position we wanted to be in. I made a few misakes out there but the team did really well and we will try to close the gap on the next leg to Nice."
