Ambrogio Beccaria’s Italian-flagged entry Allangrande Mapei Racing team has pulled off a spectacular home-team victory after winning Leg 4 of The Ocean Race 2025 in style in Genova, Italy.

Beccaria and his all-French crew – renowned multiple Vendée Globe competitor Thomas Ruyant, Morgan Lagravière – Ruyant's regular training partner and co-skipper for his Route du Rhum in 2022 and Transat Jacques Vabre 2023 victories, and 2023 49erFX Junior World Champion, Manon Peyre – finished the 650-nautical mile leg from Nice, France at 23:42:14 UTC (01:42:14 local time) after completing the course in two days, eight hours, 41 minutes, and 14 seconds.

Paprec Arkéa is expected to finish in second place within the hour, with Biotherm on track to complete the podium. The leg win by Allagrande Mapei marks the first time in this edition of The Ocean Race Europe that Paul Meilhat's Biotherm hasn't scored maximum points at a scoring opportunity (gate or finish line).

Allagrande Mapei have finished to win the leg into Genova!!

0115 local time Genova:

Allagrande Mapei picking up speed now... the finish is close! ETA near 0200

2330 local time Genova:

Allagrande Mapie has transitioned into lighter conditions and slowed down, pushing the ETA back - maybe 0200 local time or later now. This is also an opportunity for the chasing Paprec Arkéa and Biotherm, still fast, to close in.

2230 local time Genova:

As of now, Allagrande Mapei racing is holding its speed well and has only 30 miles to the finish. The forecast is for them to slow significantly, but if not, they could finish by 00:30 local time. It is likely to be at least a couple of hours later than that however.

2115 local time Genova:

Everyone wants to know an ETA for the leading quartet of boats, which has the local hero - skipper Ambrogio Beccaria on Allagrande Mapei - at the front. But it's a hard to project the finish time.

The top four boats are enjoying high speeds in strong winds at the moment and tearing through the miles left to the finish line. However, the wind is forecast to drop dramatically between where they are now, and the finish line off Genova.

Most models have a finish between 0230 and 0400 local time, but with a high degree of uncertainty in that projection. We'll keep you updated here.
