Race start postponed - no start before 0800 EDT

The Race Management team has informed the teams there will be no race start before 0800 EDT / 1200 UTC / 1400 CEST on Wednesday 2nd September.

As the fleet made slow progress out of New York Harbor and past the designated 'go slow' areas that have been in put in place to reduce the risk of encounters with marine mammals and megafauna, it became clear they would need more time to reach the start line. 

The Ocean Race Atlantic will have live coverage of the start on Wednesday on its YouTube channel, before the first of the daily OnBoard Live shows which begins at 1100 EDT / 1500 UTC / 1700 CEST.
