Rosalin Kuiper
Patrona
Date of birth: 7 June 1995
Place of birth: Zoetermeer, Netherlands
Rosalin started sailing at the age of six on her Optimist on a lake close to her hometown Zoetermeer. In her youth, she competed in athletics at national level before switching to field hockey. Rosalin fell in love with sailing again at the age of 18 during a solo trip to Australia and took on her first sailing job as a deckhand on a sailing ship. Soon after, she joined the Youth Sailing Academy led by former Volvo Ocean Race skipper Roy Heiner.
With her educational background in Psychology, she is passionate about group dynamics and dedicated to incorporating this in her team. Since then, driven by her energy and her will to succeed, Rosalin has competed multiple times in iconic races, such as the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, The Fastnet Race, and the Caribbean 600, during which she has worked with a multitude of sailing champions.
During The Ocean Race Europe 2021, she sailed aboard the Volvo 65 AkzoNobel as a trimmer, then competed in The Ocean Race 2023 with Team Malizia. Her personality shone out around the world, as did his courage and dedication. She then joined Team Holcim-PRB as skipper and also became the mother of a little girl.
"I’m incredibly proud and excited to take part in The Ocean Race Europe for the first time as skipper of Team Holcim-PRB." comments Rosalin. "Our strength is definitely this diversity. Each of the sailors is very committed to the collective success. The race, which comprises five legs, is going to be particularly fast-paced. Without hesitation, I can say that we're sailing with some of the best sailors in the world. Our ambition is clear: we're here to win. That's why we've optimised the boat and built the best possible team, both at sea and ashore."
