If you haven’t heard of Bellroy, then it may be time you did. Founded in Australia’s Bells Beach (take note, Point Break fans), the accessories brand grew out of Carryology – arguably the online reference for all things portable. Years spent reviewing the world’s best gear emboldened the Carryology team to have a go at making their own. That was in 2010 and Bellroy has never looked back – forging a reputation for smart, well-made designs.
Bellroy’s sharp product focus also means its wares are thoughtfully made, with an emphasis on considered materials and long lifespans. The regular stock version sells for €99 but, as a product built to last, we like the more upmarket Premium Edition with its deluxe DriTan leather. Produced by Europe’s innovative ECCO Leather tannery, DriTan uses fewer chemicals and 80% less water than standard leathers. To further minimise its footprint, the Hide & Seek also has a recycled PET lining.
Besides planetary wellbeing, the Hide & Seek also promotes personal security with RFID protection and a cunning, hidden cash compartment for travellers.
